Introduced in the year 2015, Express Entry has always helped skilled workers to immigrate to Canada. As per the immigration level plan, more than one million people were allowed to stay in the country. For the future, the admission target is set to 1,021,800 people for the next three years. But, for this year, the goal has still been as much as 330,800. Talking about Express Entry, this is a system that the IRCC uses to manage applications. Once the candidate earns a CRS score, the officials assess the profile based on some factors. While the age, education and the work experience is taken into account, the person has to prove proficiency in English. For proving his abilities in English, he or she needs to appear for the IELTS exams.
Now, here’s how the Express Entry in Canada works. When the government assesses the profile, the applicant should qualify for any of the three immigration programs. These programs are laid down based on different classes. These classes are nothing but the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Worker Class.
Moving ahead, Provincial Nomination Programs are also associated with the Express Entry. However, to enter into the Express Entry pool, specific eligibility criteria have to be met. Apart from being educated, the applicant should have work experience of one year. Besides, the person should prove to be proficient in French or English via the IELTS exams . In case the government comes across some medical issues, then the officials wouldn’t be ready to accept the profile.
When it’s time to create a profile, the applicants have to honest and fill the necessary details. Based on the information, the person would receive a score. This score would help to determine the rank while many candidates are in the pool.
In case the candidate doesn’t qualify, then he or she can improve the CRS score. With regards to the CRS score, the applicant has to score out of 1200 points. The higher the score, the more are the chances to receive an ITA.
Moreover, an applicant can get more points if he or she has a valid job offer. In case he receives a provincial nomination, then 600 points would be added to the score.
For those who don’t have a job offer, they may register with the Job Bank of Canada. This is considered as a resource from which Canadian employers select profiles. But, in case the person skips the registration process, then that wouldn’t matter. Way ahead, the IRCC conducts Express Entry draws after every two weeks. Once the person gets a score more than the cut-off score, then he is sure to get an ITA.
However, if the candidate doesn’t receive an invitation, then the profile may not be valid after a year. He or she may have to create another profile and fill the details once again. To be on the safer side, it’s better to check for eligibility through an online assessment form. As the person fills the details, he may have to mark himself based on the points of the IELTS exams.
A newsletter can also help him to stay updated with the draws to be held way ahead. If the person receives the ITA, then he or she has to apply for permanent residence within two months. Now, the person may have to provide some extra information. He or she may also have to produce relevant documents based on what’s stated in the Express Entry profile.
Post applying, the person has to wait for the final decision. He or she needs to be patient as the processing time may go up to six months. In case the officials approve the application, then the person would be able to activate the status. The person would subsequently be authorized to show an appropriate status in his profile.
About the Express Entry profile
To submit the profile into the system, a person needs three documents. So, if you’re interested in being part of the Express Entry pool, then you must prove proficiency in English or French. In case you need to prove English language ability, then you have to clear the IELTS exams related to General Training.
The IELTS score should be more or less the same across different sections. For the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the person should score a minimum of 6 across different abilities. But, with the trend observed lately, the officials may accept profiles with IELTS 5 for the Federal Skilled Trades Class.
Regardless of the profile, the person should score in the test as much as he can. In case the person doesn’t have a job offer, or he isn’t a working professional, then his results should be equal to CBL 9. This would further increase the CRS score to around 450 points. Such a kind of score is then more than sufficient to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Apart from the results, the person should obtain an Educational Credentials Assessment (ECA). Such a document should be achieved only when the person has completed his education from a college outside Canada. But, if the person has gone through a Canadian educational program, then it’s not necessary to produce an ECA.
Finally, the person should have a valid passport. A copy of the passport has to be submitted for the profile. But, in some cases, the officials may accept some other documents. This would be applicable only when the person can’t present his or her passport. Later, the person has to show proof of funds even if he is an entrepreneur. This document would show if the person can support his family in the years ahead.
Once an entrepreneur settles in Canada, his net worth may also show his capability to run a business. The officials may not intrude in any way if the person wants to take over a Canadian company. In case you are dishonest with the details, then the government considers it as a serious crime. You would ultimately not be allowed to enter Canada for the next five years.
