Express Entry Draw – Saskatchewan Invites 418 PNP Applicants

March 28, 2021BY Admin

On March 24, Saskatchewan held a new express entry draw, inviting immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

Applicants who may be qualified for a nomination from the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), specifically the Foreign Skilled Worker group, obtained invitations. 183 of those invited may be eligible for the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, while 235 may be nominated through the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

In order to be invited, applicants had to have an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 70, regardless of the stream. They also wanted Educational Certification Tests to prove that their international education was equivalent to the Canadian norm.

They also had to have work experience in one of the 78 in-demand occupations mentioned on the government’s website. Medical laboratory technicians, social workers, and educational counsellors are among the qualifying professions.

About the In-Demand Occupations sub-category

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is a base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which means it is available to immigrants who do not have an Express Entry profile.

This sub-category is for highly qualified workers who have experience in a high-demand occupation in Saskatchewan but still do not have a job offer from the province.

Foreign nationals must build an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system in order to apply for Canadian immigration in this sub-category.

The EOI system in Saskatchewan enables the province to choose immigration applicants who have the ability to succeed in the prairie province. Candidates’ ability to settle in Saskatchewan will be judged based on their job experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province.

The SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid is then used to allocate them a score out of 100. The applicants with the highest scores then are invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

Concerning the Express Entry draw sub-category

The Express Entry sub-category is an improved PNP, which means it is connected to the federal Express Entry system.

Express Entry manages the applicant pool for three of Canada’s major economic immigration programmes: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

To be eligible for an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination, candidates with Express Entry profiles must also create EOI profiles for Saskatchewan.

Express Entry applicants who obtain a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan receive an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System score at the federal level, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
