Canada Visa: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

March 4, 2021BY Admin

Most of the people moving to Canada would need a Canada visa.

There are a few types of Canada visa that can be narrowly divided into a handful of categories.

  • Visitor visas
  • Study permits
  • Work permits
  • Permanent residence
  • Canadian citizenship

Express Entry is the popular and most common route for immigrants looking for a new life in Canada. Express Entry organises and processes applications for individuals wishing to immigrate to Canada and obtain permanent residence in Canada.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the second most popular way to immigrate as a professional worker to Canada. Almost every province and territory operates the PNP to welcome skilled workers worldwide to help improve their economies.

There are 80 or more different PNPs, each with its unique eligibility requirements. The PNPs have allowed provinces to respond to their own immigration needs. PNPs are also built to fill holes in the workforce to recruit applicants with expertise in high-demand occupations.

Many PNPs require applicants to be linked to the province by previous work experience in the province, earlier studies in the province, or a job offer from the province’s employer. However, a few PNPs are ideal for those living outside of Canada who have no relation to Canada’s provinces.

These are the three easiest provinces for permanent residency in Canada.

1 – Saskatchewan’s International Skilled Worker

The Saskatchewan Foreign Skilled Worker PNP is structured to put together employees with expertise in the province’s in-demand occupations. In order to be qualified, a candidate should have at least one year of experience in one of the Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupations List positions.

With the extension of the In-Demand Occupations List, more applicants will now be able to apply. Also, applicants must have completed a post-secondary education certificate of at least one year and have some English or French proficiency.

There are two streams of Saskatchewan Foreign Professional Worker for candidates outside of Canada. First, the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream, which allows an applicant to have an active Express Entry profile to apply. Second, the Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand stream, which does not require an Express Entry profile.

2 – Alberta Express Entry

Canada’s western province of Alberta has some of Canada’s affluent cities, such as Calgary and Edmonton. With a growing job market and a great education system, this province should undoubtedly be considered when thinking about immigration choices.

The Alberta Express Entry stream chooses candidates from the federal Express Entry pool and invites them to apply for the provincial nomination. One of the key advantages of this stream is that the minimum CRS score is 300, which ensures that more candidates in the pool would have a chance to obtain a Notification of Interest from the province.

Receiving a provincial nomination would increase the applicant’s CRS score by 600 points, virtually ensuring that they obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence at the next Express Entry draw.

3 – Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream

Ontario is Canada’s most outstanding destination for immigrants, drawing many newcomers to Toronto’s booming city and its rising tech-jobs market. As such, the province has a wide quota to help migrants immigrate via PNP sources.

For those living outside Canada, the Ontario Human Capital Priorities stream is a great choice! This stream gives preference to skilled workers who would fill the vacancies of skilled workers in the province.

Last summer, Ontario started targeting tech staff on the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Candidates should have worked in one of the six NOC codes designated to be eligible. Since its launch, the province has carried out three technical drawings, with 4,350 invitations released so far.

Ontario also provides a PNP stream for French-speaking professional employees with profiles in the Express Entry pool. If you have intermediate to advanced French proficiency, this programme might be an excellent choice for you!
