People have said the area requires a long-term retention strategy, and the region needs to teach students about racism, oppression and cultural awareness in schools and universities.
Canada Immigration – How to immigrate to Labrador and Newfoundland?
You have two fundamental choices if you wish to make Newfoundland and Labrador your new home:
- The Provincial Candidate Program (NLPNP) of Newfoundland and Labrador and The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP).
- For skilled workers, international graduates, entrepreneurs and international graduate entrepreneurs, the NLPNP has categories.
Skilled workers with good Express Entry profiles need to have an employer’s full-time employment or job offer in the province, fulfil the minimum criteria for education and work experience and have enough resources to support themselves and their families.
Skilled employees will also need to prove their English or French language proficiency if they do not have a clear Express Entry profile.
Half of their studies in Canada must be completed by international graduates, and they must have graduated from a qualifying college or university. They must also have a qualified company’s full-time job offer, satisfy language requirements and have enough funds to provide for themselves.
The AIPP is a fast-track program that lets employers recruit overseas employees in Canada’s Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. Employees do not have to undergo a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) under the AIPP.
