Express Entry is a two-step online system that is used to manage applications for permanent residency in Canada. The document needs are 

• Language Test (IELTS)
• Education Credential Assessment
• Your Passport

Once you submit your profile, you will receive an ITA also know as Invitation to Apply for your Canadain permanent residency. During the process, you would need to provide additional documents like your job reference letter, additional documents to prove your identity, your police clearance certificate and your medical examination results.

Once a candidate enters a pool, they would receive a CRS score, also known as a Comprehensive Ranking System. Those candidates that rank above the draw will receive an ITA. Factors that would determine your selection is your language proficiency, age, your work experience, your education qualification and if you have any connections in Canada. 

In an ideal scenario, 

• Age must be under 30 years 
• Hold at least two Bachelors degree, or a Post Graduate degree or a Master’s degree
• At least a CLB 9 on your IELTS exams 
• Must have at least three years of skilled work experience

Additional factors that can help increase your CRS score may include:

• Higher language proficiency in English or French
• Bilingual in English and French
• A PhD or a Master degree
• Experience of working in Canada
• A sibling (brother/sister) currently residing in Canada
• A work permit from a Canadian employer
• A Provincial Nomination

Form the time of submitting your profile to your permanent residency visa being issued the entire duration takes 6-8 months. However, the time frame may vary from case to case. Your profile will remain active in the pool for 12 months. If you are still not selected after 12 months, you may resubmit your profile.

Please note:

• Your profile will remain in the pool for a period of 12 months.
• Once you receive your ITA, you have 90 days complete your application and submit all documents.
• After the immigration officer receives all your documents, your visa for permanent residency should be processed within six months.

A candidates CRS score will determine if he/she is successful through one of the Express Entry programs. Incase the candidate is more than the cut-off score for the latest Express Entry draw they will receive an ITA. However, it is not possible to predict the CRS score, but you can predict that the score will fluctuate.

No Immigration consultant or lawyer can predict a candidate will successfully receive his permanent residency for Canada through the Express Entry system. It is totally at the discretion of IRCC, so there is a risk that a candidate may not receive his/her permanent residency.
